Mattia Savelli

Mattia Savelli is an artist who took part in the 58th Biennale Venezia

He is an handwriting teacher at SMED. He also create calligraphy and lettering for commercials using both traditional and digital media.


Mattia Savelli was born in Italy in 1990, Rome, where currently he lives.


2019-present – BA Printmaking student at ABA Roma

2014 – Handwriting for teaching at Ca’ Foscari

2011-2014 – Coin design at SAM-IPZS

2010-present – I’ve been studying calligraphy at classes attended by Monica Dengo, Ewan Clayton, Marta Lagna, Massimo Polello, Loredana Zega, Norio Nagayama, Taki Kodaira.

2019 – 58th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale (Venice, Italy)


I teach handwriting and italic writing. As a SMED member, I’m focused on how to let emerge my student’s ability in free hand writing, according on their individual characteristics.
